Discounted Home Energy Squad Visits

WPCiA has arranged a special half-price deal for residents seeking Home Energy Squad visits: While WPCiA funds remain, we're offering Home Energy Squad visits for $35 instead of the usual $70. This program is in conjunction with our home fix-up loan partners at the Center for Energy and Environment, a Minneapolis nonprofit organization. These "Home Energy Squad Enhanced" visits include a team visit to your home to evaluate your energy-savings opportunities and to install a host of energy-efficient materials of your choice, such as:

  • door weather stripping
  • water heater blanket
  • programmable thermostat
  • compact fluorescent light bulbs
  • high-efficiency showerheads
  • faucet aerators
Neighborhood Meeting March 15

Join us at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, for the monthly Windom Park neighborhood meeting. The meeting is held at the Windom Park Recreation Center, 2251 Hayes St. NE, Minneapolis.

Agenda items include:

  • Update from Laura Bonicelli on Bonicelli Kitchen's new location at 1839 Central Ave. NE and neighborhood vote on the request for a Class E wine/strong beer license (public hearing at city hall is 1:30 p.m. March 22) ;
  • Share you ideas with the new Fundraising Committee on special events you'd like to see implemented in the Windom Park neighborhood;
  • Guest speaker - Learn about Neighborhood Health Source's new Central Clinic in our neighborhood and the services offered there;
  • Hear the latest on the expansion of the Eastside Food Co-op, directly from General Manager Amy Fields.

"Kids Corner Hang-Out" Available During Meetings

Interested in attending the monthly WPCiA neighborhood meetings at the Rec Center but wondering what to do with your kids during meeting time? Bring them along to enjoy the new Kids Corner "hang-out" program, supervised by Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board staff at the rec center during our WPCiA neighborhood meetings. Games, toys, occasional treats, movies and more will be offered! It's free and open to the public.
